Mulank

Mulank 4 meaning: Rahu, traits and compatible numbers

Short answer

If you were born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd or 31st, your Mulank is 4. It is linked with Rahu and often associated with fresh thinking, hard work and building systems. We read Rahu like Saturn, so for Mulank 4 roots 4, 5, 6 and 8 are usually favourable, 3 neutral, and 1, 2, 7 and 9 challenging.

How it is calculated

The worked example below shows a birth day being reduced to Mulank 4, step by step.

Example number 98XX XXXX 00
Digit98XXXXXX00
Value98······00
Total41 → 5
  1. 9 + 8 + (6 hidden digits: 24) + 0 + 0 = 41Add every digit
  2. 4 + 1 = 5Keep adding the digits until one digit is left

What it means

Mulank comes from the day you were born, reduced to one digit: 13 → 1 + 3 = 4, 22 → 2 + 2 = 4 and 31 → 3 + 1 = 4. If you were born on the 22nd, your day also passes through the master number 22, which we show as a note.

In Indian numerology, 4 belongs to Rahu. People with Mulank 4 are often described as practical and unconventional at the same time. They like to question the usual way and find a new one. Commonly listed strengths are hard work, organisation, technical skill and original ideas.

Numerologists also note that 4 may resist routine or change plans suddenly. Writing plans down often helps.

Rahu has no row of its own in the classical friendship table, so we follow a stated convention: 4 is read as 8, Saturn. That gives Mulank 4 the same verdicts as Mulank 8. Mercury and Venus are treated as friendly to Saturn, Jupiter as neither friendly nor unfriendly, and the Sun, the Moon and Mars as difficult. Root 7, read as Mars, is challenging for that reason.

We do not use "avoid 4" style rules. Number 4 goes through the same table as every other number, and interpretations vary between numerologists.
